Should Exams Be Abolished? — SSB Lecturette Speech Outline

Take a side, then qualify it. Use this outline under a 3-minute prep clock, then speak without reading.
Opening hook (~40 seconds)
If we abolish exams tomorrow, we still need a way to decide who flies the aircraft and who designs the bridge.
Body — three points (~90 seconds)
- Exams are a filter. The problem is one high-stakes paper deciding a 16-year-old’s worth.
- Better design: continuous assessment, skills, and more than one chance — not zero measurement.
- SSB itself is a five-day exam of personality. We are not against evaluation; we are against cruelty and coaching-only games.
Closing line (~50 seconds)
Do not abolish exams. Abolish the idea that one marksheet is a human being.
What to avoid
Pick a clear stand in the first 20 seconds.
Practise with the hub timer and the Lecturette GTO guide (3-3-3 structure, body language, chit selection).
