Privacy Policy

SSB Practice (ssbpractice.in) is a free educational website for Indian Armed Forces SSB preparation. We built it so you can practise psychology tests, read guides and fill your PIQ form without creating an account. This policy explains what data we collect — and what we deliberately do not.

1. Who we are

SSB Practice is operated as an independent educational project for defence aspirants in India. Contact: ssbpractice01@gmail.com.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not require registration, login or payment.
  • We do not ask for your Aadhaar, phone number or address to use the simulators.
  • We do not sell personal data to third parties.
  • PIQ form data is not uploaded to our servers — it stays in your browser only (see §4).

3. Anonymous analytics

We use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand page views and improve the site. This does not track you across other websites and does not include personally identifiable information from your PIQ or test responses.

4. Browser local storage

The following data is stored only on your device using your browser's local storage:

  • PIQ Builder draft — auto-saved form fields so you can return and continue filling your Personal Information Questionnaire. Clear it anytime from the PIQ Builder page or by clearing site data in your browser.
  • Theme preference — light or dark mode (ssb-theme key).

You can delete this data at any time through your browser settings (Clear site data / Local storage). We cannot access or recover your PIQ draft remotely.

5. Test simulators & API calls

When you start a timed test (PPDT, TAT, WAT, SRT), the app requests word lists or picture IDs from our backend API at api.ssbpractice.in. These requests do not include your name or PIQ details. Your written responses during tests are not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly share them.

6. Cookies

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Analytics may set minimal first-party cookies or use cookieless measurement depending on your browser. Theme and PIQ data use local storage, not cookies.

7. External links

Guides may link to official UPSC, MoD or service websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites. Always read their policies before submitting personal data.

8. Children's privacy

SSB Practice is intended for defence aspirants typically aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us by email, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this page when we add features (e.g. new tools or analytics). The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
